The Operating Manual for Being Human

And then, a place to go deeper.

Built on one rule: it's designed to be used less, not more.

Some readers want the sentence and nothing more. Others want to know who worked this out and how they know. Both are fine.

In the companion, any name in the text opens where you're standing, in plain language, with a way through to the original if you want it. Forty or so researchers. Eighty-six sources. None of it in your way unless you reach for it.

In the printed book, selected drawings carry a GO DEEPER mark and a code. Scanning it opens the same material: expanded science, author reflections, guided practices, worksheets, and updates as the research moves.

The communityComing with the manual

The book says plainly that nobody does this alone. But a forum about grief and trauma is a bad idea, and most of them prove it.

You see where other readers stopped. Not what they highlighted. Where they put the book down.

Every unit ends with something to do. When you're actually in it, the part of you that reads instructions is the part that has gone offline. So they're spoken, in Mark's voice, and the screen goes dark while one is playing.

Four minutes. No timer counting at you. Nothing to finish.
