Free. About twenty minutes.
Some decisions you can't take to the people who know you.
Not because they don't care. Because they're in it, or it would get around, or they'd worry, or they love you too much to argue with you. Bring one of those here and eight thinkers argue it out in front of you.
How it works
- 01
You go first
You write your own answer before anyone else speaks, and it's sealed. The eight never see it. It comes back at the end, next to theirs.
- 02
Eight of them answer, separately
Campbell, Jung, Frankl, Hoffer, Bukowski, Socrates, Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus. Each argues from their own tradition, alone, blind to what the others said.
- 03
They disagree, and that's the finding
Nothing gets averaged into a reasonable middle. You get the argument itself, one sentence naming the tension you're stuck with, up to three actions with dates on them, and a book.
- 04
Thirty days later it asks what you did
What you decided, and what happened. Writing that down is the only thing that finishes a council.
One question you can't take to anyone. Eight thinkers argue it out in front of you. If what you need is a person instead of this, it will tell you so.
StartWhat it is not
It's not a journaling app, a chatbot, a course, or therapy. No streaks, no badges, nothing asking for you daily. If you use it twice a year, it worked.
If you have someone who knows the whole story and will tell you the truth, go and use them. That is better than this, and I would rather say so here than take twenty minutes of your evening. When this is the wrong tool it says so and points you at a person. That is the part I haven't seen anywhere else, and it is the part nobody selling a subscription can copy.
Before you start
It takes about twenty minutes and it's free. You need one real question and a quiet room. A test question gets you a test answer.
It will not comfort you and it will not tell you what to do. Ask a chatbot the same question and it will agree with you, because agreeing is what it is for. Eight of these disagree with each other on purpose, and the disagreement is the thing you came for.
It's in alpha. That means I read completed councils, to find out whether this works. Nothing gets written down unless you ask to keep it. Anything you keep, you can delete with one button. You have to be 18 or over.
Bring a decisionBeen here before? Open your record. Free while it's in alpha. No account needed for a single council. Once you have a few, there is a paid session where someone reads the whole record with you. See the privacy note and the terms.
